Back in the 1980s, Alice and John Alderland moved from Toronto, Canada to a lakeside village in North Hartley, Quebec, where Hatley opened a gift shop called "Little Blue House." Inspired by the surrounding countryside, the painter Alice designed a series of aprons that featured her whimsical farm animals. The aprons sold very hot, and soon other stores wanted to sell them. So, the birth of the Little Blue House gift series Alice and John quickly developed their family business, Hatley provided the store with the world's best cattle and pig aprons. Soon after, they gave birth to elk and bears. The apron brings clothing and many other gifts.
